Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are actually open and may shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to meet the following requirements:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home by using a combined gross domestic earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic income does not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not post any proof of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to provide the right Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored within their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are researching or intend to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
